What a Deal!

***Update!!! My sincere apologies! After really taking a good look at the Planter’s Granola Bars coupon, I realized it says you must buy a carton of granola bars to get the $1 off, not just one bar. I am sorry for misleading you all in this deal. Please don’t try this deal with that coupon, as it is not meant to be used in that fashion.

Thanks!

Cara

I stumbled upon a great deal at Dillons (21st & Fairlawn) today! They have a Planter’s Peanuts display set up at the end of the candy isle with Planter’s Granola Bars on sale for 69¢ a bar. The greatest part was there is a $1.00 off Q right on the display making these free, plus 31¢ towards your other groceries! (Don’t worry, I left some Q’s for some of you too, but hurry, they won’t last!)

  • 2 Heartland Pastas 3.00, used $1.60 in Q’s
  • popcorn kernels $1.99
  • 2 Russell Stover chocolates 2.98, used BOGO Q
  • 15 Planters bars 10.35, used 15 $1 off Q’s

Total OOP:  $1.54! That was a 98% savings!

Just in Case…

You don’t have enough toilet paper, here are two more links to print a 50¢ off Q for Cottenelle. The 4pack is only 99¢ at Dillons. The best part of the deal is that Dillons doubles coupons; so you will get your toilet paper free! Now who couldn’t use free toilet paper?!

Super Savings Saturday…at the Mall!

Me, go to the mall on a Saturday? I sure did! I almost can’t believe it myself. Well, I really only stepped foot in JCPenny, but that counts, right? Even if it was for only 20 minutes flat…and that was because of all the crowds! :)

JCPenny recently sent out a coupon for $10 off (they are green). I usually just throw these out because you have to spend so much to get the $10 off, but this time the coupon was $10 off a $10 purchase. Now that is appealing! You can find an assortment of things in a store like that for close to $10.

We roamed a bit and I ended up finding a tie clip that was a Door Buster Sale item regularly $22, on sale for $10.99…used my $10 off coupon and walked out the store paying just $1.06! My children and I have been wanting to get my husband one of these since his birthday last year!

I am so thankful for coupons! I hope you got one of these JCPenny coupons too—don’t throw them out! And if you don’t want it, can I have it?  ;)

Happy saving!!! See what others saved this week at Money Saving Mom!

Kmart!

Looks like the Kmart in Topeka is joining in on the Super Doubling Coupon event! Check out Shannon’s post at The Grocery Weekly for more information and details.  Thanks Shannon for the heads up!

Here is another very helpful post on taking advantage of this deal from bargainbriana.com.

Free Entertainment Day

If you are looking for something to do today with your family, I just read over at The Grocery Weekly that you can go to the Kansas History Museum for free today, swing by there and check out the rest of the details.

Also while you are reading about that, Shannon has also posted about Hyvee having a Kid’s Day with free pony rides, food and games for the kids–and maybe a little couponing for the Mamas!

Enjoy your Saturday!

Our “Blessed” Husbands

This post was so cute I had to link to it! Dana’s husband (at Frugal in Virgina) wrote a  post on what it is like to be married to a couponaholic. He has got us marked down to a T; it is almost embarassing!

I got a good chuckle out of it. I guess my husband is not the only one out there learning to love a couponaholic after all!

Need More Coupons?

So, you have started couponing and now you are wondering, “How can I get my hands on more coupons?”

Well, here are a few places that I have managed to find coupons:

  • Ordering “freebies.” A wonderful site for finding freebies is Freebies4Mom.com. Alot of times when you order freebies the manufacturer will send you a coupon to use, as well as, the free sample.
  • Mailing lists. Most of your favorite stores are very willing to send you coupons when you sign up on their mailing list. This can be to your home address or email address.
  • Magazines. Most woman’s and baby magazines have coupons in them. I recently have heard about the magazine ‘All You.’ This magazine can be found at Wal-mart and it has tons of coupons in it, I am not kidding, I found 41 coupons in the August Issue #8!
  • Family and friends. Ask around, most people don’t use their coupons and are very willing to pass them on to you. My Grandma lives in a nursing home and she collects the inserts from all of her friends for me; just to give you an example.
  • The newspaper. I am sure this one was a no brainer, but I added it anyway.
  • In stores. Keep your eyes peeled when you are shopping. Manufacturers will put coupons next to their products in the store. Sometimes on tear pads, directly on the products (this is called a peelie), in a blinkie machine and on sample tables. When we used to shop at the Commissary on post, they would always have a box sitting in the entrance that people could dump coupons in. You could spend hours digging there.
  • Print them. Did you know you can print coupons on line? On my side bar I have a place where you can link over to several places to print coupons. Try doing a search on Google to see if you can find a particular coupon you are looking for.
  • Download them. If you shop at a Kroger store you can download coupons directly to your card. These can also be stacked with other coupons!
  • Advertisements. Most ads will have some coupons in them. I am thinking of stores like Walgreens or Hyvee. These kinds of coupons can usually only be used in their store.
  • My favorite, you can get coupons from recycling bins. There is a whole thread that talks about this over at hotcouponworld.com.
  • Coupon trains and trading. Again Hot coupon World will be a help to you here. You can trade coupons you don’t want for coupons you do want. They also have “train rides” you can participate in there. This is basically a group of people that agree to send each other a variety of coupons. You can find out much more information by following the link.

It seems the possibilities are endless. Keep your eyes open and before you know it you will have more than enough coupons!
What about you? Have you found any other places to find coupons? I’d love to hear about it!

Another CVS Coupon!

Here it is, another great CVS coupon!

You have to download the Richmond Parents Magazine to get it (It did not take long at all!). After downloading the magazine you can find the coupon you desire on page 30. Thanks to Thriftee Momee for the heads up on this one.

Happy printing and shopping!!!

Coupons, coupons, and more…

coupons!

What do you do with all those lovely coupons you have been accumulating lately?

Here are two ideas:

The first method I used was with an index card box, very similar to the one Crystal has blogged about at Money Saving Mom, take a peek so you can get the basic idea. Instead of envelopes I used the index cards as my separators and I wrote the categories right on the index card. I also had a category for each store that I shopped at so I could put related items there. For instance, in the CVS “file” you would find my Extra Care Card, ecbs, and any exclusive CVS coupons. Having a rebate section is very nice too.

After a while I started having waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many coupons for this system and would spend alot of time fumbling through them at the store trying to find the one I needed.

My new method is to use a binder with trading card pages*. I got this idea from Alyssa at Keeping the Kingdom First. Check it out! She even has a little video so you can see it live! The really neat thing, and I hope a time saver, is you can see all your coupons you have at a quick glance. I just changed over today so I will let you know how this method works for me.

*For those wanting to know:  I found these at Office Max, $3.08 for ten sheets, each sheet can hold 9 cards. You can also find them at Wal-mart. They are close to the check out register where they sell cigarettes and trading cards. Each package is a little over $5 for 32 sheets. A far better deal than Office Max!
