Remember, I don’t do my grocery shopping until Tuesday (the last day of the ad) so if you are out shopping at Apple Market and you come across a great deal or a coupon that I missed, please let us know and I will update the post.

Also, I don’t buy every item at the store (obviously), if there is an item that I don’t normally post and you would like to see the sales for that, let me know and I will do my best to keep you updated. For instance:  I hardly ever buy pop so I don’t know the best prices for that, but I would be glad to learn them if that is something you are interested in seeing.

Thanks! Have a great week all!

It is kind of hard to plan a menu plan when the sound of any food just makes you plain sick. But here I go, I think my family still wants to eat this week even if Mommy is dealing with pregnancy “ickies.”

What kind of Mother am I? I forgot my son’s birthday is this Thursday. We have started a new tradition in our house by letting the birthday person pick the meals for the day. Sooo, that means our menu plans are changing for Thursday!

Sunday
B:  Cereal, Milk
L:  Cabbage Stew (I was suppose to make this Saturday, but didn’t), Bread, Grapes

Monday
B:  Cereal, Milk, Oranges
L:  Stuffed Shells (provide for us by some dear friends), Corn, Cantalope

Tuesday
B:  Blueberry Coffee Cake, Milk
L:  Egg Salad in Pita Pockets, Fruit Salad, Relish Tray

Wednesday
B:  Blueberry Coffee Cake, Milk
L:  Baked Chicken, Mash Potatoes w/Gravy, Brussel Sprouts

Thursday- Birthday Boy’s Pick!
B:  Oatmeal, Fruit, Milk Pancakes, sausage, grits
L:  Mama’s Stew, Cornbread Hot Dogs, French Fries, Pop, Semi-Truck Cake (we’ll see if I can pull this one off, any suggestions?)

Friday

L:  Chicken Soup, Crackers

Saturday
B:  Fried Eggs, Toast
L:  BBQ Pork on Buns, Baked Potato, Carrot Salad I am going to move the Mama’s Stew meal here instead.

What’s on your dinner (or lunch) table this week?

Here is what we are attempting to eat at our house this week. I am trying my hardest to put more vegetables on our table (and in our bellies) and would greatly appreciate any suggestions you have for me.

I am usually good about “sneaking” veggies into our meals, but I want to add more “visible” ones too. Today I made a stove-top type dish and added some pureed pumpkin to it, no one had a clue!

I am also trying out new-to-us veggies. I bought an eggplant and am still trying to figure out what to do with it. Any ideas?!

Monday
B:  cereal, milk
L:  Turkey Ranch Pasta Dish (I just made this one up as I went), Cauliflower

Tuesday
B:  Oatmeal, fruit, milk
L:  Ham & Beans, Cornbread, Coleslaw

Wednesday
B:  Apple Millet Cereal, milk
L:  Spaghetti w/meat sauce, sauteed mushrooms (possibly the eggplant here)

Thursday
B:  Oatmeal, fruit, milk
L:  Corn Chowder, Relish tray, Apple Oat Muffins

Friday
B:  Pineapple Coffee Cake, Scrambled Eggs, milk
L:  Baked Salmon, Brown Rice Pilaf, Brussels Sprouts

Saturday
B:  French Toast, Bacon, Grapes, milk
L:  going to friends

Sunday
B:  Banana smoothie, toast
L:  Mama’s Stew, Cornbread, Fruit Salad

I am trying quite a few new recipes this week from Sue Gregg’s Cookbooks. I am looking forward to seeing how they turn out; and if my family even likes them. If you are interested in trying some her of recipes for free you can download a mini-cookbook by following this link and filling out the required form. Or she has some free recipes listed directly on her site here. I am using the Blender Batter Cornbread one this week.

I did it! I finally got my menu plan posted on a Monday! We will see how long this lasts. I am still going to do my grocery shopping on Tuesdays, but I am trying to get my menu plan worked out by Saturday. We will see how long this system works for me.

I have only listed our breakfast and lunch menu. Lunch is our largest meal of the day, since my husband is home to eat with us. We usually eat leftovers or something very easy for dinner.

Sunday
B:  Apple Breakfast Roll, sausage, orange, milk
L:  Ham slices, baked sweet potato, green beans, apple and orange slices

Monday
B:  Banana Muffins, apples w/peanut butter, milk
L:  Hamburgers, roasted potatoes, onion rings

Tuesday (Today is my husband’s birthday, I let him decide the menu for the day)
B:  Pancakes, scrambled eggs w/green pepper, onions, cheese, bacon, grits
L:  Hamburger Helper (I cringe on this one, but he loves the stuff), and I will probably add some king of vegetable, and of course, cake!

Wednesday
B:  Sourdough biscuits, scrambled eggs w/cheese, milk
L:  Garlic Spaghetti w/ham, broccoli, homemade jello

Thursday
